UPCOMING CLASSES:
with Pastor Larry
Monday, June 17th, 6:30-7:30. Civil War & Northwest Ohio
In the church
(No limit to class size! This is the same class Pastor Larry gave in April)
There is probably no other location this far north that has more important people and places connected with the history of the Civil War. This class will discuss the Confederate prison camp on Johnson’s Island, Andrews Raiders (the great locomotive chase), General McPherson, General Hayes, the spy Belle Boyd, among other things of local interest related to this tragic war.
Thursday, June 20th, July 18th, & August 15th, 6:30-7:30. Fun with Poetry
At the parsonage
This class will simply read some poems from a wide variety of poets, time periods, and subjects. The aim of the class is to learn more about the lives of some good poets and how their poems were written, so that we can appreciate them more and maybe even discover some things from them that can enlighten and enrich the journey of our own lives.
Wednesday, July 31st, 6:30-7:30. The Life & Ministry of Jesus in the Holy Land
In the church
This class will show the places in Israel where the events of Jesus' Life and Ministry happened, such as Nazareth, the Sea of Galilee, the Feeding of the 5000, the Sermon on the Mount, and the Transfiguration. Seeing these places which have changed so little in 2000 years helps make the amazing things Jesus did in the Bible seem more real to us today.
