Ottawa County Fair
Did you know that St. John’s runs the entry booth at the Ottawa County Fair?! YES we do! By volunteering our time and talents, St. John’s receives a portion of proceeds from admissions to the fair every year to help fun our youth organization activities and events, including the National Lutheran Youth Gathering.
Ottawa County Fair is set for July 19-26, 2026! Many hands make light work and we need you!! Check out the Sign-up Genius link and sign up for a shift or two. THANK YOU! Not only do you volunteer your time but you also get in free to the fair either before or after your shift!

The River Sunday Easter Service
Join us at The River this Easter for powerful music, a message to carry you into the week ahead, and the joy of new life. Everyone who joins us will receive a special wooden cross engraved with The River on it.

Easter Egg Hunt
Sunday School Egg Hunt! We’ll meet in the Sunday School room, on the lower level of the educational building! Then, weather permitting, we’ll head outside!
Easter Breakfast Potluck
Join us for fellowship and breakfast! Christian Ed. Committee will provide meat, drinks, & tableware. Everyone is encouraged to bring a favorite breakfast / brunch item to share (egg casseroles, quiches, potatoes, breads, coffee cakes, fruit, pastries, etc.).
Let’s celebrate the Resurrection by sharing our cooking and baking skills! Please be sure to join us even if you are not able to bring a dish!

A joyful sunrise service celebrating the resurrection of Jesus as we welcome the new day together.
Good Friday Evening Service
A contemplative service reflecting on the final hours of Jesus’ life through Scripture, sound, and silence.
Good Friday Afternoon Service
The afternoon service is in partnership with St. Paul UCC and OH UMC!
Join us for a special Good Friday prayer service that starts at St. John’s and ends with the crowd walking to St. Paul’s, as we recognize the final walk that Jesus took to the cross.
Maundy Thursday Evening Service
Join us for a Maundy Thursday service with Holy Communion as we remember the Last Supper, concluding with the Stripping of the Altar.
Maundy Thursday Afternoon Service
Service featuring In Pew Communion as we reflect on this final day of Jesus’ life.
Palm Sunday
Join on Sunday Morning as we walk with Jesus as he enters Jerusalem. There will be blessing and receiving of palms during service.
Mid-week Lenten Presentation - Holy Week
Pastor Larry & "Holy Week in Jerusalem” - We'll show pictures of the places in Jerusalem where Jesus was from Palm Sunday to the resurrection on Easter. This was not only the week that shaped Christianity, but it also could be said to be the most important week in the history of the world.
Midweek Lenten Presentation - ODNR
ODNR - will discuss the studies on various Lake Erie species and update about some of the major fisheries

Kendra German/Change of Plans
Kendra German and her band, Change of Plans, will join The River service @ 5 pm. Hear Kendra’s music and message about the power of taking chances and listening to God’s plan for you.
Pack the PEWS!

On Sunday, March 8, St. John’s is hosting a special Pack the Pews worship service, and you’re invited, whether you’ve been here every week or it’s your very first time.
Bring a friend. Invite a neighbor. Let’s fill the sanctuary with voices, hearts, and hope as we worship God together through song, prayer, and community.
Everyone is welcome. No expectations—just come and be part of it.
OHHS Mixed Choir Performance
Join us as we welcome the Oak Harbor High School Mixed Choir! Under the direction of St. John’s own Tracey Nycz, the OHHS men and women’s mixed choir will perform uplifting songs during worship.

Coffee Break Bible Study
Middle school and high school friends—this one’s for you! We’re kicking off a new weekly Bible study at Wild Brew starting Sunday, Jan. 25, creating space for honest conversation, questions, and faith that fits real life. Come hang out, grab a drink, and explore what following Jesus looks like right now, alongside friends who are figuring it out too. We hope to see you!
