New Adult Class – Martin Luther’s Large Catechism – Starting September 11
Sundays, 9:15-10:15 in room 116 – Taught by Pastor David Tinker and Paul Weichman
Many Lutherans remember learning Martin Luther’s Small Catechism when they were in their Junior High years. The Small Catechism was written for parents to use to teach their own children. Did you know that Martin Luther wrote a Large Catechism? This was written for adults to use for their own learning.
Come for the fellowship and learning as we revisit the Catechism from an adult perspective. There will be copies of Martin Luther’s Large Catechism in the form of the book: Martin Luther's Catechisms: Forming the Faith, by Timothy J. Wengert. He was one of the editors of the new Book of Concord. The recommended donation for the book is $18.00.
Having copies of the book is essential to really understanding the class. Often members of the same household will share a copy, which is fine. Please come, even if you do not feel you can afford the book. Some people often donate to cover the cost for others. What matters is that you come.
